The Desert Sun is pleased to announce that for the second year, the winning band of this popular local music showcase series will be awarded a $3,000 cash prize at the conclusion of the final showcase in May.

For the past four years, the Tachevah band showcase series has been a major springboard for Southern California musicians during the Coachella Valley's high-profile music festival season.

The Desert Sun has secured two desert venues -- Pappy + Harriet's Pioneertown Palace and The Date Shed in Indio -- along with several well-known music industry judges to help shine a spotlight on our local talent, making this a premier opportunity for musicians across Southern California.

If you are in a band and want to be considered for a spot on the showcase bills, upload a video of your band's original song NOW by clicking the 'submit' tab.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY IS 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27.

Public voting will begin on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017. The top 8 vote-getters, along with two curator's picks will advance to the semi-final showcases at Pappy + Harriet's Pioneertown Palace and The Date Shed in Indio. Two winners from each of the semi-final showcases will advance to the final showcase, to be held in May. The winning band will be awarded a $3,000 prize.
